Ingredients

  • 8 oz Cream Cheese softened
  • ½ cup Cheddar Cheese shredded
  • 2.5 oz Jar Chipped Beef finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • ½ tsp Garlic Powder
  • ½ tsp Onion Powder
  • ¼ cup Chopped Nuts Pecans, Walnuts, etc. or Fresh Herbs (Parsley, Chives), for coating
  • Crackers Bread, or Vegetable Sticks, for serving

Instructions

  • Soften Cheeses: Allow cream cheese and cheddar cheese to come to room temperature for easier mixing.
  • Combine Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until well combined and smooth.
  • Add Chipped Beef: Gently fold in the finely chopped chipped beef until evenly distributed throughout the cheese mixture.
  • Shape into Ball: Place a large sheet of plastic wrap on your countertop. Spoon the cheese mixture onto the plastic wrap.
  • Mold and Chill: Use your hands to shape the mixture into a ball. Dampening your hands slightly can prevent sticking. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap.
  • Chill: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm and easy to handle.
  • Prepare Coating: Place chopped nuts or herbs on a plate.
  • Coat Cheese Ball: Unwrap the chilled cheese ball and gently roll it in the chopped nuts or herbs until fully coated. Press lightly to help them adhere.
  • Serve: Serve immediately with crackers, bread, or vegetable sticks.

Notes

  • High-Quality Ingredients: Use high-quality cream cheese for the best flavor and texture.
  • Chill Time: Do not skip the chilling step! This is essential for the cheese ball to hold its shape.
  • Flavor Variations: Get creative with flavor additions! Diced jalapenos, sun-dried tomatoes, green onions, or different cheeses can add unique twists.
  • Serving Suggestions: A wooden cheese board adds a rustic charm for presentation. Pair with sweet accompaniments like fig jam or honey for a balanced flavor profile.
  • Make Ahead: The cheese ball can be made 1-2 days in advance and stored in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
  • Storage: Store leftovers tightly wrapped in plastic wrap in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
